Eye issues: how to promote healing from a mysterious eye malady?
The family doctor thought it was pink eye and prescribed an anti-infective eye drop, which did nothing. When pressed, the eye doctor won't say whether it's something like pink eye or if he thinks it's a reaction to a new type of silicon-based contact lens that I've never worn. Either way, I'm on a (very expensive) steriod eye drop now to reduce inflamation - should I be concerned about using steroids in my eyes? Are there any good natural remedies or supplements that I might add to my treatment?
I too have used steroids on and off for my eyes due to inflammation. I don't think that you are supposed to be on them for the long term, as it can do damage to your eyes. However, you do need to use them long enough to get your eyes back to normal. Unless you are pregnant, there is nothing to really worry about. I have never had any strange side effects.
